What’s all the fuss about........ gram parsons?

This is not intended as an attack on an artist but a genuine attempt to find out what all the fuss is about. I own some of his albums and the stuff he did with the Byrds. It’s not unpleasant but also nothing to write home about IMO. If you’re a fan of grams i’d really like to find out why you think he’s so great. So you know, I do like country. Guy Clark, steve earle, Emmylou Harris, Townes van zandt to name a few so country music isn’t the issue for me here. Can anyone help?

Totally agree with the original post. I've just tried again some of his songs. Regular country music to me, i.e folkloric music. I like country music or rather what it evokes to me (America), but I like it much better if it's just some elements of country blended in rock, i.e Neil Young, Eagles.. Much more enjoyable songs in the end (dare I say better songs ?)
