A great accessible & hook-laden indie rock album from the indie rock legend. For those curious who foreshadowed the likes Soccer Mommy & Snail Mail. Juliana Hatfield pioneered that terrain back in the early 90s.
Good question. I'd put Slime Season 1 & 3 in contention, along with a Gucci tape or two (check out Mr. Zone 6 for the 2010 diary). It's not essential to the genre like those, but I also loved Vince Staples' latest record (well all of them, but that's his first trap album). _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM
I'd probably go with Future's DS2 or Rich Gang's Tha Tour or Kevin Gates' The Luca Brasi Story. I feel a chart coming on, though. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
I was pretty excited to hear that one since Bridgers is one of my favorite new artists, and I'm trying not to feel disappointed. It's definitely a new style for her, which is to be expected with a collaboration I guess. I'm not at all familiar with Oberst outside of one Bright Eyes album I don't like, but I don't really care for his voice here. Overall it's a lot louder than I expected so maybe I just need to warm up to that.
Im going to give it a couple more listens but I'm curious if anyone else had the same reaction. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
I used to be the biggest hip-hop/rap head (so much that it was the ONLY genre I listened to) until the trap movement came along (so like 2015/16 for me). I cant stand trap music.... Where did all the conscious rappers go? Kendrick and J Cole? Oh yeah, they both fell victim to the trap-game too with their latest releases.. smh _________________ Jeff Lynne 5th Beatle
