Since you weren’t specific on which chart to peruse, I decided to look into this one and selected something at random. After I listened to the album I found out it’s an “avant-garde metal” release with some interesting influences, which I’m not sure is how I would’ve described this release.
It was an interesting record – though I’m not really a fan of the sort of metal Igorrr was drawing from. To take the gothy, mallcore aesthetic adjacent to breakcore and alternative metal was something I can’t say I’ve heard of before, and certainly not one built in a traditional, almost classical music-type fashion. Personally, I enjoyed it – but I was more interested rather than entertained throughout. I wouldn’t rate it particularly highly, but maybe it is one of those records that need repeat listens to really touch on the complexities and draw that makes it more than just another attempt to improvise and expand upon progressive metal norms.
For whoever is next, feel free to pick something from any of my yearly charts.

I'm not sure I want to participate yet, but this is my favorite entertainment on BEA right now -- so many of the comments are absurd
