I think that's almost the point of the track. It's minimalistic club. It's kinda like Italian food. You only need a few ingredients, but make sure those ingredients are really good and all go together.
The main achievement of Pick Up, albeit progressing and digressing, is that DJ Koze somehow made a perfect tireless loop. By the 2-3 minute mark it really puts me in a trance. Even at the 10min park, I don't find myself wanting it to end.

You are probably right. There are a lot of this minimalistic club as you put it that I like, but this one won't work for me. I guess it's just not my kind of loop.
