This album is truly off the wall, in a really good way. Never a dull moment as they run through a bunch of different styles and wacky ideas. Not everything works, but plenty does. My first experience with Faust, and it's neither of the two giants in their discography. Will have to check those out too. 3.5/5.

In the interest of keeping the game moving, I'm going to go ahead and write up The Conet Project right now. At this point I've listened to over 3 hours of it, so I've developed all of the feelings that I need to reach a decision on it.
I've messed around on Ham radios before, it's a fun hobby if you have the time and equipment. I've found all sorts of weirdness on there, mostly religious zealots claiming that the rapture is afoot, but I can't recall too many stations like these popping up.
There are so many things I want to say about this, but I'm finding my self at a loss for words. It's an utterly fascinating compendium of a bizarre world that is hidden in plain sight. To wonder what these transmissions meant, and what kind of secrets they held will get your imagination working, if your open to that sort of thing.
As a piece of "music" it's as unpredictable as they come. You never know what could possibly be next, and I don't know how much, if any, was added in by the record company. The interstitial little jingles, melodies, and tones add to the whole mystery surrounding the purpose of these stations.
That's all I've really got for now. For most people, this is more of a fun novelty, but this is the kind of thing that beguiles me.
Baystate, I have no idea if you know of any of Osamu Sato's "games", but that soundtrack has to be nuts.

This is a great rock album. It is an intoxicating and colorful set of arena rock that is full octane and never lets go until it is over. As well as only 36 minutes. Andrew is also a passionate showman throughout the album that makes this quite a quick listen. So what is my complaints? Well I would argue that while there are these details that spread throughout the album, the album sounds somewhat samey sounding. I would also point out that I wish there were a few tracks that were somewhat slower to give the listener a break. The only other thing I would bring up is that when listening to this album, the high hats sounded somewhat thin within this mix. Other than that, this is great.

A dreamy, trippy electronic soundtrack that RYM characterizes as IDM with acid techno elements. One of those albums that envelops you and takes you somewhere else. Luigii & Tha1ChiefRocka, you should listen to this asap because I think you will be fans. It feels like a grower, and I'm starting it at a high position on my 94 chart and a high 4/5.

Hey Luigii, I can only listen to 4 songs from Gianni Gebbia, they're good, but I can't get anymore without paying for it.
Can you pick another one from this list?

P.S. I did Baystate. It's awesome. I would suggest watching some gameplay from his games too. They're crazy.
Wow. Now this was pick that I really love. It was weird. Chilled. Groovy. And a lot of things in between. Like I love the vocals of the singer. Songs could go anywhere it wants. And to me I just had a lot of fun. My only concern would be if this album would hold up in the future with repeat listens. Otherwise I love this album and would be really high in my canon list for 2001.

Emotionless, personality free, by-the-numbers, money maker. When the song "I Really Like You" contained the lyrics "I really, really, really, really, really, really like you" (yes, six times for emphasis ), and was immediately followed by the song "Gimmie Love" with the annoying chorus of "Gimmie love gimmie love, gimmie love, gimmie love, gimmie love" I totally stopped caring about paying any attention to the lyrics. But what do I know? I seem to be in the minority here as both critics and music lovers seem to love this for some reason I don't understand. I find it a bit sad that this is ranked #9 for 2015, when Chvrches album from the same year is #39, The Jezabels album from 2016 is ranked #195 for the year, and Broods album from 2016 is #2214 for the year. All of those artists make good quality synthpop, electropop, dance-pop albums with personality and individuality. Phew! Glad that's out of the way...I'm sure it only gets better from here...and it gives me something suitable to anchor my 2015 chart. 4.5/10 and 74/74 or 2015.
Luigii even a lesser REM album is still worth listening to and it has a couple of great songs amongst the pleasant filler.

Damn! It is none of those first three adjectives in my opinion, but for the fourth adjective there is actually some evidence I can introduce. This was a commercial flop after Kiss, greatly underperforming sales expectations, but becoming more of a โcult classicโ pop album among people who seek mainstream pop thatโs not any of those first three adjectives. Instead of dashing off a quick, formulaic record, Jepsen and her collaborators recorded roughly six albums worth of 80s-inspired music, with lots of attention to quality of production and songwriting, then cherrypicked twelve for the record. Ultimately, the album shifted her whole audience from top 40 listeners to the type of music fans who listen to lots of albums. Iโm sure there is nothing I can say to convince you this is good, or has personality and individuality, but just wanted to throw in my two cents. _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM
So before I start with my thoughts of this album, this will be my 1100 record that I have listened to and graded for this site. And I'm quite happy about that. Now lets begin.
(1)
Well this was a surprise. I don't know if this record will hold up over time since I think this is my first album for R.E.M. As well as maybe the stories that are presented on this album are probably not the best of what this band can offer. Maybe some other listeners could maybe explain it to me. Also from reading the comments for the album, I noticed a name that would probably a pivitol player in the group left so maybe some fans point to that as being the problem. But as of now, that doesn't affect me. And the reason for this is well I Love It! Like god damn do I love this. And that is mainly that the sound, the musical palette that this album has is gorgeous. It has a bit of electronic tinkering. It has dreamy synth tones. Some songs have horns and string arrangements. And most if not all of the album fits this summery/space opus vibe.
Now again while this is an album I adore, I could somewhat understand some complaints. The biggest one might be that it is "boring" to some listeners especially if the listener followed there music for a good amount of time. Or compared to there other records, the lyrical themes are not as ambitious compared to other albums. And while I will disagree with being boring I could somewhat understand the second point. Even though for me, lyrics aren't the main selling point.
But otherwise I was pleasantly surprised by this album and would make my top 20 for the canon of 2001. As well as somewhat curious of Up. Because if Up is like this, Damn.

Pash listen to Bonito Generation. You might have the same reaction like E.MO.TION but I'd argue it might be a little better. I still need to listen to that album anyway.
