About chart of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com chart of the day is randomly selected from all charts of at least 50 entries (and divisible by ten). Charts are only selected if they have a minimum average rating of 75 out of 100 from at least 10 votes, and must have been updated in the last 180 days. In addition, a chart must allow member feedback for it to be eligible to be selected. A full history of chart of the day can be viewed here.
expected more u2 before i realized it's a 00s chart.
๐คฃ yeah...
I'm surprised all their 2000s efforts even charted, then again I'm a fanboi.
Probably will revisit this chart someday and fix it. There's so much I love here and wouldn't replace and then so much I'm familiar with and that's why it got a higher ranking, not because it actually is better - my favorites from when I first created it in 2016 instead of "what should be on here" and really hasn't included anything I've discovered since 2016.
Then again I probably just have garbage white boy taste.

a lot of classics from the period, really. if i'd made my 2000s list in 2010, i think we'd overlap on like 80 or so of these. i'm not going to count it out, but i think that's pretty close.
i get where you're coming from though... taste is constantly changing and evolving and the logical choice for greatest album of such and such a year slowly works its way off the list.
i tend to go through "cycles" of what i'm listening to, and if i catch something in the wrong cycle, it doesn't do anything for me. like, last week, i was listening to a lot of japanese pop, korean pop, etc., but now i'm binging hard on modern classical, and i can't imagine listening to anything else in the world right now. next week, i'll be tired of classical and probably dive back into something objectively tacky but actually really awesome like witchhouse or synthpop.
it's weird...
so then, we try to make these lists to capture a portrait of something that's constantly in flux. but i guess i'm addicted to it... or i keep coming back to try and document the journey or something. but then i have 40 albums to add to the database, and after 20, i burn out, and i've already moved on to mid-80s celtic folk revival or obscure german post-punk circa 1984, and it's a wash. now i'm trying to decide if i tackle these 40 german albums that NOBODY on this site is going to ever stumble across probably. but then i'll add a dozen anyway and regret that i didn't add them all. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

That's the best explanation of behaviour on this site ever made. Well I mean maybe some of the specifics are different, but yeah, you totally summarized the experience very well.
