I have noticed recently that there are plenty of Chuck Berry greatest and singles collections out there. Although I see somewhere up to 12 of them on the shelves, this exact one is never there.

Is there a reason 'The Great Twenty-Eight' is rated so high on BEA? What seperates it from all the other Chuck Berry collections? Could I get the same experience with an alternate Chuck Berry album, like with all the same songs?

I think it's commonly agreed on as the best Bery album.

These are all great:
Berry, Chuck-The Anthology (2 CDs, 50 tracks, 2000)
Berry, Chuck-The Definitive Collection (30 tracks, 2005)
Berry, Chuck-The Great Twenty-Eight (28 tracks, 1984)

There is no real reason The Great Twenty-Eight should be ranked higher except it has been out longer and reviewed by more cirtics. My preference is for The Definitive Collection.
