professional reviews

?

🤣 gotta admire your persistence that if nothing else can count on you making a negative comment.

I just want to say that I appreciate the fact that it would not be possible to get this particular group of talented individuals together who are interested in writing (as I have previously stated) "semi-professional" music reviews, if not for BEA. I completely understand that it could be seen as rude to have the planning of another site on this site, I guess I didn't want to have discussions elsewhere because to me that would seem a helluva lot more shady and a helluva lot less plain and explicit. Apologies.

No problem. I'm sure some great ideas will come out of this debate which will be great for everybody.

I like the comment section for albums just as it is.
Multiple subsections ("comment" / "review") will just make things confusing.

What I'm expecting now from BEA is possibly genre tagging and then multiple "themed" charts.
This I believe will bring BEA to a whole new level of awesomeness.

Good thinking there CellarDoor. Tagging (as I have discovered on Tumblr) is a great way to narrow down searches and discover more music relative to yourself.

In regards to the comments, maybe an option of tagging your comment as review, comment, other so people can choose what they wish to look at.

Yes, tagging would be a great improvement, but this year's changes have taken a lot more time/work than expected (despite working pretty much full time on the site!) I think by the end of the year, multiple charts per user will be in place (year & decade charts), and I think tagging will happen in early 2012.

Regards comments, I think these might stay as they are for the time being; but I like the general idea of being able to filter comments & reviews, so maybe that could be added to the list of future changes. (There could be a drop-down list or something when you add a comment with a choice of 'comment' or 'review' and users could then filter on this).
