I can be. Not all the time. I like that there are a lot of conversations going here. But I also like the spots here where people can get recs. The album thread is my absolute favorite...it's an endless resource for what people are listening to.
I like this one as well...even if I am the only one using it right now. I'm giving you a song from an album. If you listen, enjoy, and want more, you've got the album link as well. It's a fast and easy sample. Maybe it will never take off. Maybe it will. Who knows? But I enjoy doing it. I believe the more resources we have right here at BEA, the better.
I've heard Dog Man Star three times. It's easily an English icon. For music of that era, my choice cut is Parklife for its inventive and quirky traits. It's not very common for me to recommend songs, though.
And considering that you have the most points on BEA and have a clear affinity for data and coding, it makes sense that your favorite thread would be based on a similar subject, especially when it becomes more personal and unpredictable. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Yeah...I do have kind of a thing for data and the like. I don't know if anyone else will jump in here, but I'll keep doing it and hope I can maybe help someone find what they're looking for. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

I guess while we're on the subject of recommendations, is there anything you would consider "indie metal?" I had an idea in my head for what it would sound like, but the closest thing I can think of to what I had in mind was "Scentless Apprentice." _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

I'd probably consider Scentless Apprentice a good example. I'd go with bands like Faith No More, Soundgarden, and any of the heavier early funk-rock bands from the early 90's. The heavier Seattle bands are, for me, indie metal. Deftones and System Of A Down probably would qualify as well. But I don't know about it as an active genre, or sub-genre.
Interesting choice, though I'm thinking more of something like the metal counterpart to Pavement and Pixies, something similar to "Dead," my second-favorite Pixies song. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802
