No problem - it's just that i really had thought i could come on site, post my top 100, and leave it at that, popping back every now and then to view how opinions were changing. Looking around the site, there might have been one or two comments that seem a bit elitist and off-putting to newbies. The very first poster on this thread (quadrophenia) also seemed a bit peeved that he or she couldn't post a full chart straight away.
On a related theme, how often are points updated? Having made some ratings, uploaded album artwork for an album that (astonishingly, i thought) no-one else had mentioned before, and indeed now made several posts, one of the pages still states that i have 0 points. So i won't be posting a top 100 list for some time yet!
edit - this was written before another poster intervened, and indeed reinforced my original opinion.

The new points system has literally gone live in the past three days, and the first feedback that I've seen to the new system has been this thread. Yes, the new system is a bit of change and that might explain the reaction. I didn't realise the sign-up process was misleading, which seems to be an issue here, so maybe there needs to be a better explanation of the new points system somewhere.
There are a wide variety of people here on BEA. Therefore, comments across the site will vary widely depending on the author, so I'd take some of those with a pinch of salt.

Depending on when your account was created, there could be a four to six hour window until your stats are showing real-time. If your account was created before this period, your stats should already be real-time. I think stats are now something people are going to look at more closely, so this is something I need to take away and fix if there is a problem.

Thanks for your replies - my bad luck that i just missed the cut-off point, and there weren't any other threads explaining the situation. It was working through the monthly site update lists that i found what was going on.
