Okay, i wanna be excited about highly anticipated albums by some of you. Any coming next couple weeks yall a waiting excitedly for? I look forward to the new Steven Wilson on Friday as well as the new The Body album that people seem to be excited about. Also a little later in late Feb Julien Baker has a new album out.
Anything else that should keep me keeping on? (not that i'm thinking of not keeping on, so no worries there.)
If you like massive jazz things, there's a bounty to be had from the sets coming from Julius Hemphill and William Parker on Friday. Also new Madlib.
The week after, the new Wobbly album comes out, a continuation of his audio surveillance processes seen on Monitress, using audio to midi conversion, having one instrument running composed material and then other instruments reproducing what they hear. I got an early preview of it and it is truly outstanding.
First week of February will have Mariel Roberts' Armament, George Lewis' Recombinant Trilogy, EKG's 200 Years of Electricals, Quatuor Bozzini performing Alvin Lucier's Navigations, and Roy Montgomery's Island of Lost Souls. Another Timbre just dropped my favorite releases of January (so far) yesterday, Michael Winter's single track and Catherine Lamb's Muto Infinitas; also worth mentioning is a strong major debut (enough so that I'm keeping tabs on her now), threshold, from gabby fluke-mogul.

Four Tet's stuff is super hit or miss, but these two are essential:
Perpetual Chaos by Nervosa
This just dropped today (thrash metal if it wasn't clear from the album art lol). Nervosa went through a lineup change since their last album but this one doesn't disappoint. I think I prefer the old singer/grunter but I also think the new drummer is a bit more technical which is what really helps thrash metal thrash.
Yeah. I'm going to drop this from my rotation of possible contenders for my AOTW. Not as strong as some as the other metal releases I've heard this year such as Frozen Soul & Dread Sovereign, both of which are killer.
Let me know if I'm missing something if anyone takes a particular shine to this one.
I've heard beautiful rewind and I think it's fine but it's just not something I really ever have much urge to go back to. haven't heard Morning/Evening yet though so I'll add that to the list _________________ A Variety of Artists
