I'll probably listen to it eventually, mostly to bear witness to the horror.
Reed has always been rock's antihero, and Metallica went about setting themselves up as the Music Industry Incarnate. So this album can only be interpreted one of two ways: Reed selling out, or Metallica trying to establish credibility as a creative force by borrowing a credible artist. Either way, it's doomed.
I don't hate Metallica. I just find their popularity annoying because they've struck me as an ignorable band, right from the beginning. So many fans out there... and I'm like "meh... ".
I've only heard a couple of tracks, I'm going to listen to the whole thing in just a few minutes. But you know, I liked what I've heard so far. I expected a negative reception but not at this magnitude.
