Fuckin' A man, the '80s were awesome. We also had:

The Pogues
Black Flag
Metallica at their prime
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Big Daddy Kane
The Stone Roses
Slick Rick
Peter Gabriel
Operation Ivy
Dead Kennedys
Bad Religion
Motorhead
Minor Threat
Iron Maiden
Glenn Branca
And a lot of really fun pop music!
Umm.. YA
That's what I was trying 2 get across earlier in the other 80's tourney thread B4 I got my shit jumped from all different directions
I mean just because a few young people decided what was great 80's music sure as Hell doesn't reflect what the world in general thinks of when the 80's are mentioned.
I was buying albums, playing in bands, seeing other bands,
ALL THE FUCKING WAY THROUGH THE 80'S !
Now, as much as I loved, and still do, the new wave era of the 80's. What the 80's were really all about as far as quality, energy, great lyrics, awesome talent of musicians etc.
WAS METAL MUSIC
Here are another 20+ bands that fucking rocked the 80's and blew the doors off most everything before and after with power and balls
Testament
Diamond Head
Queensryche
DIO
Morbid Saint
Mercyful Fate
Megadeth
Slayer
Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
Saxon
Anthrax
Ozzy
Accept
Fates Warning
Helloween
Celtic Frost
Metal Church
Twisted Sister
Skinny Puppy
Scorpions
I can't believe nobody has mentioned that one of The Rolling Stones' best/most underrated albums was released in the '80s. Not to mention Michael Jackson's best album.

And I'm pretty sure Gary knows the Rolling Stones one.
