I think this question would have an obvious answer, but just to make things clear, "game discs" don't count as a music release?

Game Discs are basically CDs you insert to your computer or your video-game console in order to play the game, however, there are video-game CDs with a Redbook Audio format, which means you can also insert the CD to a music-playing device, therefore, can play music with CD tracks and all. In such video-game CDs, the first track is likely to be a "data track", which could be a very silent track, a very noisy track or one with a video-game character telling you to insert the disc to your PC or your console.

I think it would obviously be completely silly to add individual entries of such CDs, since there are quiet a bunch of them and since it originally counts as a video-game release and not an album release or a soundtrack release, such releases shouldn't be added to BEA's database, although sometimes I see Discogs counting them in, as in Earthworm Jim's case and its sequel, but it's official soundtrack release is this, as VGMdb doesn't count the two CDs I mentioned before, although there's seems to be only one game disc counted on VGMdb, but it seems to be just a Redbook Audio, so it shouldn't count.

What is your opinion of the matter? Should "game discs" count as official releases on BEA or not?

Thank you for reading ?

Absolutely no.

We have way more than enough to try and keep track of. And that's what places like RYM are for. Let them have that nightmare.
