Yeah I remember completely dismissing Valence & Brae on first listen as a sort of B-Boy Death Grips, but I shockingly rather enjoyed their last album. Nostalgia aplenty, but I like how much care went into the production and that they were clearly having a lot of fun wearing what's (dang another I'm-Old reminder) now vintage clothes.
REBEL was fine but feels far too tame for what it's trying to do, it feels like a more-serious version of Nashville Pop when it should be more of a straight-up barnburner
