Funeral will take Kid A out of the Top 10 next year, hopefully. I thought "In the aeroplane.." would be Top 20 by now, hopefully next year too. And a"The Suburbs" will be in top 20 next year too Id think.

I really can't see Nevermind at number one. Also, I don't think the VU and Nico is going much higher. It's actually been on the way down. And sorry, as much as you love it, Is This It in the top 10 is the definition of wishful thinking. I could see Pet Sounds cracking the top 10 some time in the future. I think it was there once before, and it's right on the cusp. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea might be headed there. It's like watching a very slow motion horse race, isn't it? Even though many people think it's overrated and over hyped, Sgt Pepper is so iconic, it will probably cling tenaciously to the top 10 for a while, at least. I don't think the Beatles stock is ever going down. They're just too much of a fixture culturally and historically in popular music. I think you're largely taking into account the collective opinion of the active members here, when what really matters is the members to be. What will they think are the best albums?

in 2018 do you think the top 100 album list will feature some of today's popular albums like - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Merriweather Post Pavilion, xx, Fleet Foxes or Bon Iver?? Or will people ignore all of those albums for more Arcade Fire and Radiohead?

MBDTF, definitely. It will most likely make it into the 40's... maybe 30's? _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

I think it should read ranks, not points, in the original post....
I think with the advent of decade (and eventually year) charts, we will see more movement from albums in the '90s, '00s, and '10s move up at the expense of older albums, simply because of the demographics of the site and the better accessibility of new(er) music. While this movement might not affect so much the top 10 or 50, it will likely make a difference around the top 100 and 200 points, especially the latter since by that point albums are only separated by 50-100 points on average, and are only displayed on less than 100 charts. Since only 97 users can currently submit decade charts, though, it may take more than a year or two to have any sort of impact.
