Scores and Soundtracks

I've never been really big on scores and soundtracks, but I've been listening to this one a lot lately. The Ten Commandments by Elmer Bernstein Here's a track from this album. I'm interested in looking more into this genre. I don't even really know where to start. Please post some of your favorites in this genre and / or some that you think I might like, based on the music of "The Ten Commandments".

"Meggie's Theme" has always been one of my favorite instrumental songs of all-time. Now I'm listening to the entire Deluxe Edition of the Soundtrack album.

I'm not personally huge into just listening to many film soundtracks, but there's one exception to that:

The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King by Howard Shore

I mean, really any of the three LOTR soundtracks, but Return of the King especially. Howard Shore was just inspired on an other-worldly level putting the music together for the whole trilogy and it's such a special series of films to me that just listening to the soundtrack can get me emotional.

Annie Lennox's performance is incredible and it's such a beautiful song about being at peace with death. 100% guaranteed to get me misty-eyed every single time I listen to it.
