I made this AI image for the "Your Favorite Musician" challenge on NightCafe. It represents Lauren Talley's song "Shut Him Up". I titled it "They Couldn't Shut Him Up", which is a line from the lyrics of that song.
My favorite and most played song of 2024 was REBEL by Anne Wilson. I just found out Anne is releasing "REBEL Revisited" on April 18th, to celebrate the one year anniversary of her REBEL album. This release will be acoustic versions of some of the songs from the REBEL album. I am looking forward to hearing the new acoustic version of the song "REBEL".
The last two weeks, I didn't have any particular favorite new tracks. This week my favorite new track is Brenna Whitaker's new cover of Stevie Wonder's "Overjoyed". This song has always been one of my favorite Stevie tunes. Brenna's new version is produced by one of my favorite artists, Gordon Mote, who also produced her last single "I'll Never Fall in Love Again", which I also like a lot.
It's less than a week now until I get to hear the new acoustic version of Anne Wilson's "REBEL". I also just found out there will be 2 albums I can look forward to coming out in May. The Mylon Hayes Family will release a new album called "Sing His Praise!". There will also be a new album coming out in May by Karen Peck & New River, which will be called "Good Answers". I'll be adding both of those releases, plus Anne Wilson's new "REBEL Revisited" as soon as the track lists come out.
My favorite new track released this week is "Legacy Medley (Give Us This Day/It Won't Be Long/Make Me An Instrument/I Never Knew Love/Pickin' Up the Pieces)" by The Archers.
Garnet Mimms was just inducted into the West Virginia Hall of Fame. He's still not in the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame though. Garnet Mimms was a fantastic vocalist, one of the best out there back at that time IMO, and I've always thought he should have been a much bigger star. He lives in Philadelphia now, but he's originally from Ashland, West Virginia. I own this compilation of his.
I just wanted to share the two latest reaction videos I just watched. These are reactions to one of the most gifted vocalists on the planet, David Phelps. The songs aren't from 2025, but I watched the reaction videos, just now, in 2025. I don't really have any other place to post these.
The first one is "Oh Holy Night" and David brought the woman reacting to the song to tears. She was so moved and touched by him.
