- Post subject: Songs on Spotify labeled with the wrong artist
|
Are there any other Spotify users here that have noticed this?
Among this week's new releases on Spotify there is this:
https://open.spotify.com/album/2PTu0yFN...BZf3JXMENg
The artist is listed as David Phelps. This is definitely NOT David Phelps.
Here's another one from this week's list of new releases:
https://open.spotify.com/track/1KfsiH1r...ead751464a
The artist is listed as Michael English. This is not Michael English
This isn't the first time this has happened either. A few weeks ago, there was a new song with the artists listed as Michael English & Larnelle Harris. I didn't hear either one of them on it.
And also, in the past there have been others. There have been a few releases with the artist listed as Jeffrey Osborne and they definitely were not by the great vocalist, Jeffrey Osborne.
Has anyone else here noticed songs that are supposed to be by artists that you are familiar with and then you know when you listen to them, that it is not these artists at all?

Well, Spotify is pretty much garbage, so expectations should be low. Not sure why you would be expecting a streaming site to have accurate information. And not sure why you would be surprised to find that's the case. Spotify is about playlists and artists being ripped off under the guise of "exposure". Not accuracy.

Well, I've used Spotify for years, actually, I think it's been decades. This hasn't always happened there. This is something that I've only noticed recently. It might have been about a year ago I first noticed it, but it's been happening more often in the last month or so.
