Reducing the weight of recognized charts is a good idea. That said, it feels arbitrary that it will only apply to new recognized charts and not existing ones. If anything, a new recognized chart is more relevant than one from decades ago, because it considers the music that's been released since. I would suggest switching the pre-existing recognized charts to three points per entry as well. Thanks for your consideration!

Apologies as I think the announcement was probably poorly worded on my part, but the change in points is only in relation to the points being awarded to users for adding these types of chart. For 'normal' user charts (year/decade/overall/custom), users are currently awarded two points for each entry. However, for custom charts that end up being promoted to a recognised chart, users will now be rewarded three points per entry (instead of five).

This still incentivises these types of charts being added (as the site benefits from them being here), but it now brings the reward more in line with others aspects of the site. All charts will continue to have the same weight/importance in terms of their rank points calculation.

Any word on "Level 9" features, like custom page sizes or increased maximum chart size?

Just curious...

Working hard in the background on lots of changes to the site. I've got more spare time at the moment due to changes at home, but there's currently ~300 changes in the backlog. These are continually reviewed and reprioritised, but the main thrust right now is to update the site's overall look and feel.

I don't think there'll be any additional user levels beyond what there is now, but the most recent debate around premium membership didn't resolve that idea completely. May end up adding some of the premium destined features to the existing ladder, but still open in my mind as don't want to close that door completely (procrastinating as there's so many pros and cons). In the meantime, there are lots of bugs and annoyances scattered around the site which need mopping up, so working on some of those before adding anything new and hopefully thoughts will resolve themselves the more I get into it. The main issue is always that my time is spread far too thinly over too many aspects of the site (most of my time is spent on activities that nobody ever sees).
