I had low expectations from this match-up, as I'm not really into country, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Nose on the Grindstone was certainly enjoyable, but Heaven Passing Through was simply fascinating. Despite being a seemingly simple, back-to-basics country song, there's something so warm and yet so effortless about it. I found myself immersed in its world. I'll definitely check the full album the first chance I get.
Great to hear! Country is in a great spot right now and there's lots to discover. Turnpike Troubadours are somewhat legends in the Red Dirt scene and they haven't released a bad album to date.
