Nice Creamesque intro which is really great. This track would not have been out of place on Disraeli Gears with its heavy blues feel.
Martin Barre was such a great blues rock guitarist but failed to get the recognition that I think he deserved although amongst guitarists themselves, he is highly regarded.
Great way to start the album.
Exceptional musicianship on this jazz / rock / prog track and it must be one of the most famous instrumental tracks by Jethro Tull. I love the classical / prog crossover. Not the only time that prog bands did this, ELPโs Fanfare for the Common Man, is another obvious example.
This feels to me the start of the iconic flute driven Tull sound. You also canโt ignore the bass solo from Glenn Cornick. One of the great classic rock bass sections ever
I really like it especially once it moves into rockier realms. Itโs great.
Rather too folky for me however, I like "the dynamic tempo shifts, blending bluesy folk rock with heavier electric guitar riffs by Martin", as I saw it described which is pretty accurate.
Again, as you might expect, itโs got a slight folk prog / folk roots feel. Despite this, (not my favourite genre) I enjoyed the track. Lovely acoustic start to the track. Also, some nice electric guitar interludes by, Iโm assuming, Martin Barre. Excellent vocals as well.
Very nice track and on the surface a far simpler track than others on the album. I rather enjoyed this
