Prog rock?

If we did a genre that we don't often talk about here, it might pull in a set of people that aren't normally here as well. That's why I thought maybe something from outside the broad 'rock' genre that we debate a lot here. At the risk of listing everything, there's soul, r&b, blues, country, new age, classical, jazz, reggae/dub, avant garde, etc. Or we could have a theme e.g. singer/songwriter, instrumental, female artists etc.

I don't think prog rock is being discussed a lot here...

You know, apart from Pink Floyd.

Hip-hop tourney would be great.

What about Motown? Although if you did that you would have to do songs rather than albums (just cause Motown is more song based than 'album'). I would also say that the same may be true for some Jazz as well...

For genre tourneys: Avant-garde and Hip-hop!

Post-Punk/New Wave tournament

2000s Tournament

New Zealand Tournament (we need it!)

Female Artist Tournament

Origins Tournament - eg. Manchester vs Brisbane, New York vs Paris

With the teaching load I have, I wouldn't be able to do a great tournament but I might start one soon.

... or an 80s tourney

Wasn't there this......series of polls or whatever, which were related to the '70s and '80s?

And I think Doolittle won in the '80s one?

sorry, I'd forgotten ๐Ÿซข

feel the same way as Jackwc about the 50s tbh.

But hey, we can have one again. ๐Ÿ˜„ (And this time, Beefheart will win! ๐Ÿคฃ )

Hmm.... ๐Ÿค” I mean, surely some people will be able to come up with at least 64 great albums from the '50s?
