As someone who has never followed the grammys before, has it always been this bad?
Not always, but most of the time, yes. Most serious music fans think the Grammy's are mostly a joke. Case in point: When Bob Dylan won a Grammy for album of the year for Time Out of Mind, that was the first time he had ever won an award. I rest my case.

Ahhhh... but it was Pitchfork. Remember? 😉😉
Who knows, they may actually control the Grammy's to, in turn, put themselves in control of what is popular and what is not because they're a bizzare religious cult beneath the surface 😲
From my point of view, these choices suck. Yes, Adele or Foo are the better options, but Kanye's album was easily the standout of the eligibility period. Of course, the grammies are almost always underpinned by popularity (which kanye had and the arcade fire bucked odds to win last year) and have been since around the advent of the award, but if they care about relevancy (which i think would add to viewership), then they need to replace or add members to the voting board. Otherwise, this is just silly nonsense with an occasional performance to tune in for. _________________ fav artists NOW | ALL-TIME favs | i listen 2 more music than u so u don't have 2!

Take it slow here. She's a singer, not a politician with a staff of advisors telling her beforehand what to say. That quote can easily be turned into a shitload more than it was if you want to be offended by it.
Chill out, Ms. Rubin...Adele most likely has no problem whatsoever with you or your fellow jews, she just spoke what entered her mind without thinking what those who take any chance they can to jump on too quick a word would have to say about it.
