- Trilogy - Sonic Youth
I don't know if I would call this one one song, since you can change the tracks (though it is pretty amazing, especially Eliminator Jr). For that reason I also wouldn't include Mars Volta's "Cassandra Gemini" and "Mirnada that Ghost Just isn't Holy Anymore." All the songs in these three collections, including the Trilogy, are related by content or concept, but they're separated into smaller segments; in my view if we are to count these then we might as well count whole other concept albums, like "Tommy," "Sgt. Peppers," or "De-loused in the Comatorium." Just my thoughts, could be under contention.
I also wouldn't call JohnnyRocketFingers pick of "23 Minutes of Brussels"- Suicide one song either since Suicide plays (at least tries) through their set, they just don't cut it into songs though. And I would frown on classical picks here, because most of them are fucking amazing and well over ten minutes so there's no contest; maybe add them as a side note.
There are some cool songs here though: didn't know the cure had a 10+ minute song, I wish I had some Funkadelic and specifically that song (I'll just listen to Parliament and wish I had it), and I've heard alot about Godspeed!Black Emperor and this has renewed any interest I had in finding some of them...
Is that Funkadelic track on Maggot Brain?
