I love this album. Perfect combination of cute indie pop and shoegaze.

This exactly. It's sort of an awkward album in-between their original, inspired sounding self-titled which mixed dream pop, twee pop, jangle pop, noise pop, etc. together, and their more developed, slower, more intimate, luscious Days of Abandon. This hasn't quite moved away from their fun indie pop sensibilities from the first record, nor has it kept to these sensibilities. It drops a lot of the noise and jangle influences and sticks to mainly dreamy indie pop, and it's almost an album that looks like it's trying to mature, but can't quite yet. Anyways, they found new grounds with their latest, which is great to see. _________________
