We had two "Didn't Like Either" results in the first round. The top of the alternate race is very tight, so we're going to have a playoff. Each of these albums got 8 votes either for itself or in the "liked both" option, but it was not enough to beat the other album it's match. Except for Sweet Exorcist, which got 9 votes. Two of the following will go into Round 2 to replace "Didn't Like Either" Results.

Sweet Exorcist by Curtis Mayfield

No Other by Gene Clark

The End by Nico

Sheer Heart Attack by Queen

So, which two albums get a second chance in this tournament? Two of these will go to round 2.

This is actually easier than most of the second round match-ups.

edit: Wish I read Listmeister's post before voting. No Other clearly already had a lock for the tourney.

Would have voted The End.

Yeah. This is all about my 2 nominations. Since No Other looks like a lock. The End gets my vote.

So why isn't Sweet Exorcist going through anyway? It got more votes than the others. It's almost as though you're making this up as you go along. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fair question. The extra vote for Sweet Exorcist will be a tie-breaker if needed.

Given that we needed a run-off, it seems more interesting to have people picking two of four than one of three. Maybe you're right, and I should have let Sweet Exorcist slide through, but keep in mind it did lose it's match, and its shot at redemption must be earned.

As to making it up as I go, I hadn't expected it to be so close at the top--and there were another five albums with 7 votes. So I made a judgment call. With any new procedure, tweaks have to be made along the way.
