how does the "Insert BEA link:" field on the forum messsage creation page work?

i've tried various ways of formatting a link and putting it in the text field, but my attempts have either caused an error or done nothing.

i tried searching through the forums, and i found mention of the field, but no specifics on how to use it. i assume there's something simple i'm missing

The Insert BEA link functionality can be used on the forums to link to any album, artist, track, or chart page. To use it, you just need to type your search terms within the 'Insert BEA link' textbox and suggestions will be provided. Once you click on one of the suggested items, BBCode is inserted into your forum post which creates the URL to the desired item. If you are getting some kind of error, please let me know what happens (& which browser you are using) & I'll investigate.

thanks for the reply and the explanation. i was using the BEA link field totally wrong... i was going to the album page and the copying the URL and pasting it into the text box... i didn't realize it was a live search field
