Everyone knows the story of a band that only had "one good song" or "one good album." But some of us like bands that have more than that, right? So, post them here. When I think of some, I'll post 'em.

And as long as we're talking about one hit wonders, I'll post some Wonders.

Not a one hit for the album of the day though

A lot of these so-called one hit wonders bands if you gave their other songs a chance usually they're not that bad.

James, Dexy's, Devo, and hell probably even XTC have all been called one hit wonders here in the States. It's really dumb.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly

They had other albums, but this is the only one anyone cares about. Actually, side two (the 17 minute title track) is the only part they care about. My own vinyl copy has a pristine side one, but side two, not so much.

I was going to post that after trying some more Iron Butterfly!

Anyway, I'm a bit fond of their debut, Heavy. The album lacks good production (except in a couple tracks), but Iron Butterfly knows how to write a good song. I really like the "Iron Butterfly Theme."

Technically a two-hit wonder, but his other hit wasn't even top-20 and I don't remember it at all (Naughty Naughty). So I'll put up John Parr for St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion). It's a great song, from a guy that did the theme songs for 12 films yet only put one song at the top of the charts.

A-ha comes to mind. Apparently, they were pretty huge east of the Atlantic, but had limited exposure in the states.

Yeah, often a supposed one-hit wonder band is very successful in home country - with a-ha they've had about 10 Norwegian #1's! There are people in Europe who'd probably regard Midnight Oil as a one-hit wonder ('Beds Are Burning'), but they've obviously had lots of hits at home.

Nowadays if I ever think of my fave one-hit wonders I think of one called 'Independent Love Song' by Scarlet from the mid '90s - they actually followed it up with a less successful hit but no-one remembers that one...

'Carry Me Home' by Gloworm - in my top 10 songs for the '90s...

Countless dance-crossover tunes as well like 'Rapture' by iiO...
