K.R.I.T. Wuz Here
It's super consistent and super fun! Big K.R.I.T. is one of my favorite rappers and this is my favorite project from him (probably in my top 250), so naturally I'll be voting for it. Boy In Da Corner is dope though, but it's not something that reaches my choice.

KRIT.
Just a personal preference. Not a big fan of Dizzee Rascal. _________________ Doubles & Conch

Well, Boy In Da Corner isn't exactly hip-hop, but it is my favorite the two albums so guess I'm voting for a grime album in a hip-hop tourney. Well it's dope regardless. K.R.I.T would have gotten my vote in a great many of these pairings (and I'll have basically no problem if it wins), but ah I really love Dizzee

Abstain. I prefer Boy in da Corner, but it's not hip-hop. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

I really like Boy in da Corner, but it would be kind of embarassing for it to go far in the tournament if it isn't widely considered to be hip-hop. Voting K.R.I.T.

Boy in Da Corner, easy. One of my favorite albums.
Since we won't be having a grime tourney in the foreseeable future (or probably ever), and since grime is heavily influenced by and informed by hip hop, I really don't see the big deal. That said I'm not very strict when it comes to genres to begin with and sort of chafe whenever a genre tag/label begins to limit what is included in a discussion (or in this case a tourney).
In short, Boy in Da Corner is a fun, dizzying & explosive album that kicks ass, and I'd have no problem with it blowing tired hip hop (or any other genre) cliches wide open. Death to convention!
Also, this should not be the stage where we decide what should or should not be included in a tourney. If people felt that this should not have been included in the this tourney that debate really should have happened in the nomination thread. At this point we should just be discussing the merits of the albums. It's not fair to the person that nominated this album to be having this discussion now since I'm pretty sure they could have have nominated a "proper" hip hop album once those boundaries were so defined.
