Name an album, any genre, that you believe was a great example of that genre but didn't achieve great success sales-wise, and note why you believe that album to be among the best in that genre.
I'll start off with King's X and their 1994 album, Dogman.
By that point King's X had established a reputation as a unique and highly talented band within the Hard Rock world, but they were simply too different from both the traditional Hard Rock styles and (then) still somewhat new Heavy Alternative and Grunge styles to fit in with those Rock sub-genres. Dogman may well be King's X best album out of a catalog with several truly great albums. The songwriting is excellent (and fairly widely varied in style), the performances are powerful, but soulful, and the audio production is their best to date thanks to producer/engineer Brendan O'Brien.
Name an album that you think was overlooked and deserves more attention...
To me, all three of the albums from my most favorite singer James Otto deserved more attention not just because of his voice, but because of his song choice as well. ๐๐๐
God bless you and him always!!! ๐๐๐
