I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for us to post our favorite albums of 2010, surprisingly I already have one
Los Campesions! - Romance Is Boring
Nice call! I just listened to this album by Los Campesinos and it definitely deserves more turns. Parental Warning: contains colourful lyrics. ๐ฒ
I just listened to an advance of Owen Pallett's Heartland. If nothing else this guy is a great musician. I like this album alot. It won't be in my Greatest 50 Albums of All-time so I guess I will never be able to rate it here. I would give it an 85 or 90.
Has anyone heard about the new Brian Jonestown Massacre album? It came out on new years, I think. It's called Who Killed Sgt. Pepper, but I can't seem to find it.
They have been featuring the album on Triple J (Aussie's alternate radio station). I am not a fan of Vampire Weekend and from what I have heard of the album, that isn't changing. At least they are aiming to be different and stand out.
At least they are aiming to be different and stand out.
Personally, that is something I'm not forgiving with when rating albums on here. Aiming to be different is only good when artists are not doing it just for "the sake" of being different.
A band with African instruments/influences does not automatically become better than a band using traditional instruments. A band with African instruments/influences who make better music than another with traditional instruments makes them a better band. ๐
Love em or leave em, Vampire Weekend Contra just got Pitchfork's push. Watch everyone (other critics included) now clamor to get on the bandwagon.
