Entirely false. The Wire is one of the greatest works of television art I've ever experienced. It couldn't be overrated, that show was beautiful. From the acting to the writing, all aspects of that show were almost perfectly done. _________________ Progressive Rock

I'm fairly in education when it comes to TV as an artistic medium, but if I had to choose one show as "objectively best", it would be Alan Ball's Six Feet Under. Then come SpongeBob, Hey Arnold and VicTORIous.

It's hard for me to pick from those above, but if I had to, it's probably Breaking Bad for me, and really more the last two seasons of Breaking Bad. The first few seasons were great, but the last two stand out as some of the best television I have ever watched, especially the final season. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Bob Odenkirk (among others) really shined and played their characters about as perfectly as they could have, I don't see how any other interpretation of those characters could've been better. The show just knew what it needed to do, it didn't resort to too many tired tropes and cheap tricks to keep suspense (I mean, cutting to black in the middle of a dramatic shootout? Who does that?) and the subtleties and symbolism rampant throughout the show are just impressive. Every single shot had a purpose in Breaking Bad, everything was placed where it was for a very specific reason, everything was meticulously thought through, and it's similar to Arrested Development in that way. Everything was thought through, down to the smallest detail, just in different ways between the two shows. _________________ Progressive Rock

Haha ok. This is why it's overrated, I'm not saying it not one of the best shows of all time. But it certainly isn't flawless. And there are plenty of other shows who have more intriguing character archs. Basically every cop character on that show is sub par. And by sub par I mean that they aren't nearly perfect. Some are really good. A lot arent. There are zero quality female characters. Season 2 is basically skip able. _________________
