  • Post subject: Senior Year Songs?
Making a mix CD or playlist (depending on length) for my senior class friends at my school. Looking for songs that are good for graduating, leaving, etc. At the moment, I have:

Mixtape by Brand New ("When I say let's keep in touch, I hope you know I really mean I wish that you'd grow up")
She by Green Day (literally one of the most angsty things I know lyrically)
This is the Day by The The ("This is the day your life will surely change")
Chocolate by Snow Patrol (I dunno nothing specific)
Floating in the Forth by Frightened Rabbit ("So you just stepped out of the front of my house and I'll never see you again")
Another Winter by Photographers ("I'm never gonna spend another winter here")
Boston by Augustana (I'm moving to Boston from California for the main reasons of starting over and not liking the weather here)
This is the Last Time by Keane ("And years make everything alright you fall on me for anything you like and I no I don't mind")
Soco Amaretto Lime ("We're gonna stay 18 forever")

Thoughts on other good ones I'm almost certainly forgetting?

The War on Drugs - In Reverse (When I'm done with my time here, I'm going to keep staying strong) (And I don't mind you disappearing 'cause I know you can be found) (Making it last with the grand parade in our past)

Look at the rest of the lyrics. I think the song is actually about not being able to leave a place / person / etc you're connected to, so it's kind of an ode to that feeling of deep down not wanting to leave no matter how badly you want to leave...

If you're feeling generous and sentimental, "Hard to Find" by The National is a good choice.

a lot of times when one of my classes end "i'm free" by the who starts playing in my head. it's been like this for years, and probably would have gotten annoying by now if it wasn't correlated to such a great event

Alice Cooper's 'School's Out' is an obvious choice.
