I initially considered nominating Good Vibrations, but it felt like cheating.

I don't mind if revolver wants to withdraw "Good Vibrations" if it's going to make the tournament less fun. I just picked it cause I have a lot of great summer memories associated with it, not cause I want to win the tournament.

No. It definitely shouldn't be withdrawn. everyone should be reminded that it's absolutely brilliant.

By any objective measure, Good Vibrations is the best summer song ever by over 4,000 Kilosurfs, clocking in at 7.3 Megasurfs. Fun fun fun is in second place with 2.9 Megasurfs. Sorry but this Kitty song is only about 23 Surfs, maybe 24 if you squint.

I'm speaking objectively, of course.

Dare I say it... Im actually not a huge fan of "Good Vibrations" (can recognize it's importance, complexity yadda yadda). But yeah def knew Dead Island had no chance against it, so no harm done whatsoever.

I can't criticize, since I seem to be the only person here not crazy about "God Only Knows".

Anyway, to me "Good Vibrations" is just about the ultimate summer song. It's the Beach Boys somehow mixing their signature summer themes into a delicious soup of complex vocal harmony, multi-part song structure, and catchy-as-fuck pop hooks. Add that to the fact that I have specific childhood memories of playing in the sun to this at summer block parties...

Yeah.
