Yeah I agree, I can sort of see why someone would associate Nightswimming with summer, but it just doesn't resonate with me that way.

It's right in the lyrics. "September's coming soon." By definition, the events take place in the summer. It does resonate for me, though more in a melancholy way about summer nearly being over.
