Due to the success of the film lists that were going on for the past few weeks, there's been some interest in a 2000's edition.
So. Here we go ๐
Same rules at the 2010-2015 edition. Same format, etc... You get the gist.
Anything with an American release date past January 1st 2000 would be accepted, along with any other international release past 2000. Thus, a film released in September 1999 at Cannes, but was later released in the US in February 2000 would still be eligible. I'm not sure what films this would apply to, but I think this is fair. Documentaries will be allowed, but shorts (<40 min) will not. No films released past December 31st 2009 will be accepted.
All lists will be PMed to me, maxing out at 100. The final list will be 100 films. This will be compiled in similar fashion to BEA's ranking system (#1 = 10 points, #2=99 points, etc..)
List denominations being accepted will be in entries of 100, 75, 50 and 10. They will all be weighted differently towards the final list (the smaller the list, the small the impact).
I'll be happy to start accepting lists whenever. There currently isn't a deadline, but I feel like it will present itself in due time. It will most likely be sometime in late July. _________________ Doubles & Conch

Just checking on Rill's chart, and realized I hadn't listed Yi Yi because I thought it was '99.
Anyway, aprt from that, I don't think I can imagine ever seeing a list that shows such different taste as mine. God some of Rill's picks I find plain awful.

I think Apple n george always seems to find some sort of sociological or philosophical brilliance in movies like Mall Cop.
Anyways yeah will put together a list soon, expect Harold and Kumar and lots of Russians all around.

Narrowing down to 100 proved to be incredibly tough. I'm sure I'm forgetting an incredible documentary, but this should be my final list. I promise, there's no Paul Blart.

Wow our complete lack of overlap is incredible. Thank you for reminding me that Kings & Queen exists. I totally forgot about that one. Loved it. Guess I may have to cut something from my 100 to make room _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
Also, just because it's already come up a few times, please remember to label Kill Bill as Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 ๐ They'll be tallied as different films. Anyone who doesn't label which volume it is will be considered Vol. 1. _________________ Doubles & Conch
