"Decent start, then just kind of blends into the wall. Struggles to find it's urgency, despite all the lip service paid to issues like heartache and loss, and the spit-shine polish of the productions seems to keep any true emotional outpour at bay. Well-crafted, with the occasionally attention-getting riff slide, but in the end just far too careful and familiar to really break out of it's comfortable shell." - Saoirse
I like, hell, even love this album, but I can't help but agree. Vinylmeplease ranked it as one of the 30 or so best albums ever made. Like, really? _________________

Thank you BEA for not letting RTJ win. Also it's sad how 2014 had so much great music and new things happening but on BEA the #1 album is a lame americana arena rock throwback and #2 is an asshole mumbling on a guitar and how these are two of the most acclaimed albums of last year.
i cannot understand what everyone loves about that fka twigs album. it's like that james blake debut all over again but even worse (who thought that was even possible). the war on drugs album while admittedly pretty average + middling can at least be listened to without cringing
