Now just one cotton picking second here youngin'. The 90's were one of the most greatest decades in music ever! (also see 80's, 70's, 60's, 50's, 1820's and 1750's) Do you realise you wouldn't even have the 00's without the 90's? How d'you like that logic?

(Just so people are aware, I split this topic from the 'Chart Of The Day' thread so that that thread would remain about what it was intended to be. Plus I wouldn't mind having an extended discussion on one of the greatest decades Smile ).

Now to keep this thread on topic:

Chart Of The Day woop! woop!

Meh, the 90s were basically Belle & Sebastian and company.

Shame on you Hold on there just one second. And don't you be changing the topic to the original one.

Yes, yes, we all know the 1820's were a great decade for music. But the 00's would have been PERFECTLY fine is the 90's didn't exist Not talking

the 90's consist of (basically):
90 - Late Pixies
91-94 Nirvana
95-97 Radiohead
98- Neutral Milk Hotel, Flaming Lips

and, through out this, Oasis, Weezer (and as Squishy stated), Belle & Sebastian.

Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Coldplay, The White Stripes, Animal Collective & Wilco, would have done just fine if the 90's never happened. The Indie-rock and 'mainstream is so uncool' vibe that started last decade would have pushed them forward regardless.

And we probably wouldn't have Tool, Incubus & Interpol Very Happy

That was Necharsian that made the Belle & Sebastion comment.

I love the 90's. (Contained all of Porcupine Tree's psychedelic stuff Smile)

I listened to all 5 90's Porcupine Tree albums about a month ago and I really enjoyed all of them (although Signify was my least favourite, sorry Sad )

@ Jhereko: I'm not fussed. Glad you enjoyed them, which was your favourite?

Um I need to give them all another listen (One thing I can say for all of them is that there is a lot of depth!) But as of right now I'd say Stupid Dream or Up The Downstair.

I remember you recommended Fiona to me when I did an all female top 50. Great advice. I thoroughly enjoyed both albums, Though I'm not sure which one more...
