I swear this was already a thread, but after a few minutes of trying to search for it...
Anyway, I'm currently listening from Spotify playlists (sound quality is lacking) on these (and while I like the quality of the speakers through FLAC, I feel it's a bit distant in Spotify):

But I notice I pay more attention to music when I listen to music through these:

Lastly I blare music throughout mi casa threw something like this:

And lastly the car (so long as not on a noisy freeway) is probably the best place because I don't have something in my ear, yet I feel the most isolated from outside disturbances AND the mix usually is the best.
Headphones for upbeat/compressed music at the gym and while traveling ($100 Audio-Technica, formerly $350 Sennheisers)
Home "system" for more dynamic/experimental/relaxing music as I'm getting ready for bed or studying (JBL bluetooth speakers)
Car audio for Lowkey's snaps
Those people that drive with headphones on are really smart.
Until they cause an accident due to their not being able to hear what is going on around them. I was once backed into by a man who claimed to be very hard of hearing. He never once heard the horn of my car and there was no way for me to drive forward or back up because there was a car behind me and in front of me. This took place in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. I love to hear my favorite music in the car, in my ear phones, and on my bedroom radio, so all of the above for me. _________________ Me & my favorite singer James Otto

The car is my favorite way. Reason is because I live in LA, the endless world of traffic. Music is great for getting through it. _________________ on such a winter's day

Good god almighty do I not wish to ever do the LA traffic commute again.
I'd drive from Washington Place in Culver City, dealing with the 10 interchange and Wilshire/Santa Monica onramp/offramp parties, on the 405 North to the Ventura Blvd exit... sometimes that 20 minute commute would be 2.5 hours.
I carpooled though so I didn't really get the chance to blast music for that commute.
I do love how KROQ would play this during rush hour... very fitting:
By the way I posted this because I fell in love with a "new" to me album and have only listened to it on headphones.
I then went to listen to it on speakers and the album lost something... almost to the point where I doubted my excitement for the album... like as if the quality of the album changed (it obviously didn't).
At home through a Sonos system (4 rooms of the house), usually. And walking home from work listening to headphones from my phone. Almost never in the car.
