In the spirit of Valentines Day or something, BEA is going to focus our next film list on romance films  This is our third theme poll after animated films and horror, and I'm sure this will result in some questioning on what is eligible and what isn't. We'll work that out over time. Any films that is tagged as romance on IMDb or Letterboxd is automatically eligible. This is an extremely broad genre, but I'm hoping it works out.
Rules are the same as all the other times, but here's a reminder.
The gist/ rules:
BEA's composes a list of our favourite romance films 
All lists will be PMed to me, maxing out at 100. The final list will be 100 films. This time around, I'll be accepting lists of any denotation up to 100. The size of your list determines it's weight.
All films above 30 minutes from any decade are allowed.
Lists will also be accepted in IMDb and Letterboxd format. Deadline is February 11th, and the list will be posted on February 12th.

Yeah, defining "Romance Films" is a tricky one, that scene in "Taxi Driver" when Travis takes Betsy to the porn flick springs to mind, people have differing opinions on what romance is. Leads to problems. Could be interesting though...

Romance is definitely a hard definition - I mean, Harold and Maude is a great example of being right on the edge of probably counting, for example, but I could see why some wouldn't think that - but inn the end so is any genre. I think this is a great idea and I'm looking forward to making my list.

Thanks for the list Norman, as always.
This just reminded me that I have to urge people to specify what version of Beauty and The Beast they have on their lists. I won't be surprised at all if both (the popular ones) make it fairly high up on the final cut.

Ditto on Bonnie and Clyde. I'm invoking the "if you think it's romance vote for it" clause. I'll vote for your serial killers if you vote for my bank robbers.
For real though, lots of movies not listed as romance have it as an integral part of the plot. Breathless is another prime example. Even something like Jackie Brown or Blue Velvet, not full blown romance movies by any means and probably won't make my list, but depending on what kind of romantic situations one has been in, they could be significant love stories. So even though I really pushed for picking a standard on the horror list I definitely am against it this time. I'm pretty sure Silence of the Lambs made that one anyway so screw it.
