Guys, I've just started playing the drums (using an improvised set on my desk consisting of pencil sharpeners, staplers, tissue boxes, etc.), and I'm trying to find good albums to practice with. Since I know nothing about musical tablature, I'm just trying to improvise things as I go through. And for that reason, I can't handle anything too complex.
What are some good, catchy, simple drum practice albums I could look into? They don't need to be obscure; in fact, I'd prefer something I already have in my collection. Also, any miscellaneous tips on drumming would be really helpful as well.
Here are the albums I've been practicing with so far:
*The White Stripes-Elephant
*Modest Mouse-Good News For People Who Love Bad News/Parts of The Moon and Antarctica
*REM-Murmur
Probably one of the best albums to really learn some basic rhythmns because there really isn't anything hardcore about it is The Strokes' debut Is This It, really easy to drum along to, plus when I was a beginner it was really fun, now it's a bore for me.
If you're looking for just some free style jazz fun, try Miles Davis's Kind of Blue, just don't pay attention to the drum and really just go all out with simple jazz beats and add snare and high hat fills if you know the song so well.
Remember, the most fun you can have playing along with an album is just playing what sounds cool and pertains to the song. Oh and don't go to hardcore right off the bat, you won't be doing any math rock rhythms anytime soon.

Radiohead - The Bends (Moderately Difficult)
Any Doors album is good
Good Beatles albums are always fun and easy
If you wanna just dick around and have no accuracy try some Led Zeppelin stuff, anything really sounds good when you're playing to a Led Zep song.
Pixies - Doolittle some songs are rather difficult though

personally I wouldn't start with stuff from Is This It: it does sound simple when listening to it, but if you ever see 'em play live Moretti is moving so fucking fast.

Ya, I'm seconding that.
Also, just wanna add Nas - Illmatic to that. It's hip-hop, but the beats are fairly simple.

I am moderately terrible at drums. When I half-assedly tried learning drums in high school, I was amazed at my ability to drum (minus the fills) to Blink 182. I know they are terrible, but their earlier albums are pretty catchy and really easy. I believe Enema of the State happened to be in the CD player in my drummer-friend's garage at the time. Try it!
