Something tells me this issue might have come up before, but there's been a new member on here lately who's been spouting epithets at people and basically just behaving like a troll. Anyways, this person hasn't even made a chart! I wonder if forum access should only be available to those who have created a chart first. Or would this policy discourage people too much from taking part in the site? What does the BEA community think? albummaster? I'm not necessarily advocating this as a policy, I'm just throwing the idea out there for discussion.

I am sure there are some perfectly nice people who use BEA as a browsing tool and maybe don't feel confident enough to post a chart and just want to take part in the chit chat of the forums.
On the other hand I don't like new users/trolls coming onto the site and deliberately trying to upset and provoke more established members, especially when it is just swearing and abuse.
So I think yours is probably a good compromise Shankly - if you don't have a chart you can't post in the forum.

I think there have been some valuable contributions from new users, particularly on the suggestions forum as they often pick up first impressions and issues that other people miss e.g. issues with registration, the points system, or left-field ideas that other people wouldn't think of because they are used to the site, If it's only one or two people, PM me (or a moderator), and the user can be dealt with privately. Personally, I'm for everybody taking part, and I wouldn't want the site spoiled because of one or two people.

I think we might need to introduce a couple more moderators soon to help provide more coverage for when Europe goes to sleep. As a team, I think we are too weighted towards Europe at the moment, and we have nobody from the Americas. There's four people in total at the moment (including myself) in the team making a fantastic effort to essentially provide 24/7/365 coverage on a voluntary basis, which does look thin when things like this happen. It could have been nipped in the bud a little earlier, if we had more people to cover off the additional time-zones.
