I love musical instruments. I love to play them, hear them, watch other people play them, and the way they look. Yes, it's very difficult to get me out of a music store.

Because I want EVERYTHING in the store Laughing

There are several major categories, sub categories, and then numerous instruments within each sub category. So ya, obviously I could never fit them all for there is a 12 choice limit for polls.

Also, because of the 12 choice limit, I couldn't 100% correctly categorize some instruments.

I thought this might be a cool topic for BEA because without instruments, there would be very few, if any, albums in the first place.

Feel free to talk about all things concerning instruments.

Which ones you tried to play and maybe failed badly and your Dad"accidentally" ran your saxophone over......TWICE

Which ones you have succeeded in learning how to play?

How did you learn to play it/them, lessons, self taught?

Which ones would you like to learn how to play?

Which ones don't you like (bag pipes for example)?

Which ones have/do you own?

Whatever you want of course Very Happy

I love and play the piano. My parents made me take keyboard lessons when I was little, which I didn't really progress much with and I eventually dropped out. I wanted to play by ear but the teaching style didn't allow for it. Then in my later teenage years I returned with a vengeance and found a piano teacher who also played by ear and showed me a whole bunch of stuff about chord structure that set me off. I can't resist playing piano whenever I see one. I still can't read music.

But yeah about the instrument itself, it has such a soothing sound and feels so good to play. Definitely my favourite instrument.

Honourable mention goes to the hammered dulcimer.

And here's both!

My brother and I wub me some Hammond organ. Wenhave a cheap organ at home, which we somewhat know how to play, but he's saving up for a good Hammond for our band.

Plus, it's the reason bands like Attila, Uriah Heep, and ELP are so great Razz

I love playing Synth (and listening to it obviously) but I'm a sucker for the sound of all woodwind instruments and really wish I could play one (I'll buy and learn one eventually) So my vote goes there.

I like the sound of a hammered dulcimer

Do you have a piano at the place you live in?

I love those bands. I've posted videos on BEA from ELP and Uriah Heep.

What about Deep purple, there is a lot of organ in their music. John Lord was an organ wizard Very Happy

Clarinet is my favorite of the woodwinds. I learned how to play one when I was like 10.

Like you Jhereko, I love the sound of them Very Happy

For now I will just say that I chose percussion Very Happy

As far back as I can remember I loved to hit things and see what kind of sound they made. I was always driving my teachers crazy cuz I, without really knowing I was doing it, would bang on my desk and books. Laughing

Nope. Used to have an old busted second-hand one, but got rid of it when my family moved to a smaller house.

I love what you said about "I can't resist playing piano whenever I see one"

I have never heard someone say that before.

But I am the same way.

Sometimes I'll see a piano or an organ and I'm drawn to it and can't wait to get my hands on it.

Then I see a sign on it

DO NOT TOUCH Laughing
