Are there actors that play similar characters so frequently that you typically see them as that type of character, and then they act in a film and do something completely different that it surprises you?
Daniel Craig - Logan Lucky (Who knew bond could pull off a comedy?)
Jai Courtney - Suicid Squad (Who knew that the most bland actor in the world could actually be funny? The movie wasn't great but he was actually charismatic to me.)
Vince Vaughn - Hacksaw Ridge
Justin Timberlake - The Social Network (Not really an actor, but still very surprising) _________________ Nothing really matters, anyone can see, nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me.
That comedian Mo'nique in the movie Precious. Not that it's anything new for a comedian to be in a dramatic role, but she was absolutely hair-raising in that movie. Yes, i was surprised.
And another one I could think of is Charlize Theron in the movie Monster.
And another that comes to mind is Ryan Gosling in Drive.
