I think it might be nice to be able to select the step between different scores for personal accounts. For example, having the range be separated by 1s, 5s, 10s,20s, etc.. I personally like to rank things by 10s (e.g 0, 10, 20, 30 etc.) but I've also seen people put more precise scores in the comments (e.g. 78, 89, 94, etc.). It's also a bit annoying trying to select the scores on by picking a portion of the star. So it might be nice to be able to select how you want to score things and maybe rethinking the star selection system.

The site is being redesigned in the background to be more mobile friendly, and the way that you select stars (rate an item) is definitely one aspect that will need to change so that users on touch screen devices are better supported. Personally, I think the rating scale needs to be consistent for everybody so that the overall average isn't swayed too much by people using different gradients, but its definitely food for thought for the new design and something that will be considered.
