When you send a edit and it gets acknowledged, you get no points, although you gave an information to fix.
Getting 1/2 mod points for that makes the impression that you still helped the comunnity a bit.

An acknowledgement is just a way of saying your correction has been seen but no action needs to be taken. Points are generally awarded if a correction leads to the data being updated or there's other value that supports the data otherwise it would just lead to spam.

Oh, I though that an acknowledgement is that people are willing to take action about my correction in the future.
