On Billboard there was a Jack White fan who said he didn't like some of my favorite pop musicians because they were softcore porn. I think that's ridiculous, but that raises an interesting question, can music be porn, and are there any musicians you avoid because you consider them pornographic?
It's an interesting question, I guess...I mean you have sensual music, fuck anthems and the like, etc....is that porn? Is any music that's erotic in nature, or just good music to fuck to pornographic in nature?
If you were to say something about pornographic music though, I would guess you meant songs that are explicitly or implicitly about sex, and that includes a ton of music across all time and genre...if they meant something more graphic in nature, good ol' fashioned smut, then I guess it would come more from the genres that typically associated with that kind of stuff, Hip-Hop, Hair Metal, and club oriented pop.
In short I guess I would say...yeah? I think so. Lots of music is meant to titillate or is graphic in nature. Do I avoid it? Not really, but the more graphic stuff usually isn't my thing either. I'm more of a sexual healing kinda guy, rather than a My Neck, My Back or What's Your Fantasy kinda guy.

I think the person who said this to the OP initially was thinking, "the only reason ppl like this 'music' is b/c they're sexually attracted to the vocals."
when I read the title I wasn't thinking of sexually explicit lyrics or sexy vocals, but "sex sounds" on the track such as moans like those at the end of "Do Me Baby" by Prince. or offensive lyrics of a sexual nature like those on "Sister" by Prince. prob just b/c I was just listening to those records.
all depends on what you think of the term "pornographic" though. b/c of how I grew up, unfortunately there are negative connotations I associate with it. it's "lewd" and "offensive." but I certainly wouldn't call the innocent/fun, jokey shit like Ludacris's "What's Your Fantasy" to be "pornographic" exactly, sexual yeah but not "pornographic." I know it's not truly as strong of a word as I think it is but it is to me and a lot of others.
I def was never dissing Prince at any time.
