  • Post subject: How cool my top 10 albums would be at a party

In this list, I take my personal top 10 favorite albums and score them how fun they would be at a house party that you are hosting.

UNRATEABLE: Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly - Not even drinking that much, just here to talk to people about the most pressing social justice issues. It sparks a great conversation, but pisses off a lot of people on both sides of the political spectrum. 10/10 if you were open to a philosophical left turn, 0/10 if you didn't want to piss of your right wing buddies from high school and super left wing friends from college.

1. The Strokes - Is This It - The king of cool. The party really doesn't start until they walk in. They're not even that big of an asshole. Just a swell person looking to get shwasted. Nice. 10/10

2. Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run - Just a nice person who can drink a bit, but not get too messed up. Takes care of the dude throwing up in the bathroom and even brings water to the passed out people in the living room. 10/10

3. Interpol - Turn off the Bright Lights. Dark, mysterious, but goddamn can they party. 9/10

4. Weezer - Blue Album - A real geek. Who invited them? Who cares, they have a deep conversation with a number of people while also pouring shots for everyone. Loses points for not being able to talk to girls. 8/10

5. Radiohead - In Rainbows - Not the wild kind, but has some meaningful moments with new people. Glad that they made some new friends, even if they didn't talk to other people much if at all. 7.5/10

6. Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. Really fun at first, then gets too fucked up and all serious. 6.5/10

7. Modest Mouse - Good news for people who love bad news - The first one to start the drinking, but it went downhill FAST! They're having an existential crisis. 5/10

8. Radiohead - OK Computer - Anyone who tries to spark up a conversation is met with some, "you know those fat cat politicians are really fucking us all over. Hell, this party is detrimental to society." While you would like to pick their brain, it's a fucking party. Just leave. 2/10

9. Weezer - Pinkerton - jesus christ dude how long are you going to sit there and cry? Like, it's fascinating that one person could cry so much in such little time. Does he need tough love? Does he need someone to talk to? What the hell is happening this person. 0/10
