I think I slightly prefer Amber Mark's tasteful, deep house-indebted R'n'B to Trevor Powers' fussy, glacial future-balladry, but both are really nice. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Playwright for me. The other track was fine, just.
This is mostly how I feel. I think Amber Mark has a lot of talent, but she hasn't really distanced herself from the pack just yet and is still developing her style. The beat underpinning this song seems pretty basic to me and nothing I haven't heard before. It will be interesting to see her this summer at pitchfork.
Meanwhile, Trevor Powers is one of my favorite finds of the tourney. And this song is mysterious, delicate and vulnerable while making great uses of space. The entire album is fantastic actually.
Playwright easy.
edit: Just listened to All The work agin and it is really, really good.

Yeah All the Words (or All the Work fuck always forget) has held up best over repeat listens and just have been happening to listen to a lot of House recently so at this point in time, easy pull for Amber.
